Russell has spent over 30 years developing machine learning solutions for retail, eCommerce and financial services, with specific expertise in credit and fraud risk management.

He was Chief Scientist for IBM’s Data Science Studio, where he developed the data science solutions and applications for 17 IBM Watson products, including AML, financial crime, fraud, recommendation engines and more. His experience also includes leadership roles in decision science and analytics for Open Solutions, Halifax Bank of Scotland, Chase Card Services, HNC Software (now FICO) and KPMG.

Russell has a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California. He has published over 30 scientific publications and holds five U.S. patents for commercial predictive analytics solutions.
